A Michigan woman took to Facebook on Sept. 21 to speak out against two women who allegedly said rude, insensitive things about her while in line at a Tim Hortons cafe.
Dianne Hoffmeyer explained that a trip to grab coffee and donuts turned into an emotional experience.
“To the 2 mean bitter ladies that were standing in line at Tim Hortons in Fort Gratiot behind me," she wrote. "I could hear you. I could hear the hurtful things you said about me.”
Hoffmeyer went on to explain that she overheard the women commenting on her hair color, but defended herself — clarifying that her children take priority over spending money on her hair.
“You both were right when you said I didn’t need the small box of tim bits because I already looked like a whale," the post continued. "Just so you know they were not for me. But for my sick 22 month old daughter who has kept me up all night crying and teething. I thought they might make her happy, yes I set aside the fact that they are not healthy because I wanted her to smile.”
Hoffmeyer also revealed that when she ordered a coffee, the women referred to her as a “Retarded Lard Ass.”
“I’ll have you know I've worked hard to lose 177 lbs in 22 months,” she wrote. "I am proud of myself. You both should be ashamed of yourselves.
“But to show that my mother raised me better, I'd like to say YOUR WELCOME. Because this 'Fat Retarded Lard Ass' paid it forward and I bought your coffee's this morning.
Oh in the picture of me holding up my coffee please notice which FINGER I waved to you both with!”
The woman’s bold post quickly went viral, garnering more than 170,000 likes on Facebook.
