Only hours after celebrating one of the happiest moments of her life on Sept. 3, one bride's day quickly turned into one of the saddest.
South Carolina detective Tim Buchanan, 54, had only just danced with his daughter at her Costa Rica wedding reception when he had a fatal heart attack, WJW reports.
"Little did I know just a few hours later we would lose him," writes Tim's wife, Jeni, on Facebook as a caption alongside the last photo taken of the man with his newlywed daughter.

"Tim came into my life at a time when I was broken to the core and held me up and built me into a strong person," added the heartbroken wife. "Over the years we raised four amazing children, cared for my little brothers when they needed us the most and had even had the honor of a beautiful grandchild. He was the most beautiful soul I have ever known."
He had loved his family so much, he neglected his ill health so he could attend his beloved daughter's wedding.
"Family was the most important thing to him, to the point that he ignored his body telling him something was wrong," Jeni writes. "He should have gone to the doctor, but he was afraid that he wouldn't be able to attend our daughter's wedding."

She warns others to learn from their tragedy.
"Every one of us wish he was still here and hadn't ignored the signs that something was wrong," said Jeni. "If there is anything you can do for us, it is to take care of yourself and your loved ones. If we can save just one life with our tragedy, then he can be a hero one more time."
Friends created a GoFundMe account to help raise money for Jeni, who is still in Costa Rica, while she takes time to grieve.
"Through the shock of their terrible loss, Jeni has to now deal with arrangements and expenses that she wasn't at all prepared for," reads the GoFundMe profile.
"Many of you know that Jeni is a wedding photographer, and understandably, she will need some time away from that after such a tragic event at her own daughter's wedding, so any financial help would be greatly appreciated."
