A mother wants a Santa fired in Forest City, North Carolina, after he reportedly fat-shamed her young son on Dec. 3 (video below).
"I went out and started crying, because I just felt so bad," 9-year-old Anthony Mayse told WLOS.
The boy's mother, Ashley Mayse, recalled how they planned the day: "This year we thought it'd be fun to take the carriage ride and let the kids ice skate and go see Santa."
Anthony's cousin had his picture taken with Santa, and then it was Anthony's turn.

"[Santa] acted like he didn't want to be there to do the job," Ashley added. "Very rude. I've never seen anything like it."
After Anthony asked Santa for an iPod Touch and a drone, the Santa gave him some unsolicited diet advice.
"And when I got done, he said, 'Lay off the hamburgers and french fries,'" Anthony recalled. "And that really just disrespected me, and I felt awful."
"What set me off is when he started crying," Ashley stated. "I was just mind-blown. I wished a million times that we would have never went."

Anthony, who tore up his picture with Santa, said: "It affected me so bad that I was crying until I went to bed that night. And I want to say to him, 'My momma said, You don't want to disrespect a 9-year-old. Even though what shape and size you are, it doesn't matter.'"
Santa did apologize to Ashley, Anthony and a supervisor, according to the town manager, but it's not clear if Santa was disciplined for steering the youngster to a low-calorie diet.
"When he went to apologize to me, he didn't even mean it," Anthony insisted.
"I'm hoping he's fired, because I don't want any other kid feeling like he did Saturday," Ashley added. "I mean, it destroyed him."
"[Santa] wasn’t identified by [WLOS], but he was last seen wearing an oversized red suit, a woolly cap and a smug look on his face (we can only assume)," reports The Washington Post.
