A Southern mom recently shot her children's iPhones with a gun to discourage them from using social media (video below).
"I hereby denounce the effects that social media have on my children," the mom shouts in the video while holding a shotgun. "Their disobedience and their disrespect."
She fires the gun at two iPhones sitting on a tree trunk, shattering the smartphones into pieces, notes Yahoo! News.
The cameraman, who is filming with a cell phone, gathers up what is left of the iPhones and puts the pieces on the stump.

The camera pans over to two kids. A third child has apparently left the immediate scene, but yells from off-camera, "Yeah, great, great, f--- all of you all."
"I also take back my role as parent to my children!" the mom shouts, notes the Daily Mail.
The third child, a boy, walks back on the scene and says, "I hope you're videoing it, f--- you," while giving a double-middle finger to his mother.
"I refuse to be cursed," the mom exclaims. "I refuse to be disobeyed. I take back my role as your parent."

"Get a shot of them," she tells the cameraman who shows the three angry children, including the boy who is giving the double-middle finger again.
The mom shoots what's left of the iPhones, and orders the cameraman, "Anything left, put it on top!"
"My children’s lives are more important to me than any electronic on this earth," the gun-toting mom announces while standing over the tree trunk and iPhone debris with a sledgehammer.
"Good for you, we still don’t give two f----," the boy shouts back.
"I refuse to have them influenced in negative ways, contacting people they don’t know, being involved in drama they don’t need to be in and being in trouble in school for having phones out," the mom yells.
In the video, the mom smashes the remaining iPhone pieces with her sledgehammer and declares, "I'm done!" She then walks away.
It's not known if the kids have computers at home, but they could still post on social media with friends' phones or with computers at school, libraries, friends' homes, or cyber cafes.
