A Missouri woman shared a heartbreaking Facebook post about the drunk driving accident that killed her husband and 15-month-old son last year.
Destiny Mantia's world was turned upside down after a drunk driver slammed into her family's car last year. Her 15-month-old son Parker was killed instantly in the crash and her husband Corey was airlifted to a hospital, where he died from his injuries, reports KFOR.
All three of them were wearing seat belts, but that did not do enough to combat the impact of a drunk driver who swerved into their lane at an "excessive speed," hitting them head-on.
"One selfish decision to drink and drive caused me to be a widow and a mom to an angel at the age of 21," she wrote in the post.
The post concluded with a message to readers to never drink and drive.
"You can save someone’s life too!" Mantia said. "Don’t allow your friends and family drink and drive. Don’t share DUI checkpoints. Be an advocate! Stand up with me! Let’s stop this. One is too many. DON'T DRINK AND DRIVE!"
