Taylor Petras, a TV reporter in Columbia, Missouri, was recently caught reading a story from her iPhone while doing a live broadcast for ABC 17 (video below).

Petras was reporting about a nighttime home invasion in a neighborhood where residents told her this type of crime was common during the day.

Still reading from her iPhone, Petras said there were several security signs in people's yards.

FTVLive.com, which flagged the clip, notes that consultants hired by TV stations often give advice to on-air reporters such as: "Don't let them see your notes during a LIVE shot."

Petras also looked at her iPhone back in September when reporting on a different home invasion for ABC 17.
