Mississippi Named 'Sluttiest State In America' (Map)

| by Sean Kelly

Mississippi, according to Mandatory.com, is the “sluttiest” state in America.

The website compiled their list based on data from the Centers for Disease Control and ranked STD prevalence in all 50 states. “We used the three loveliest sounding STDs - chlamydia, gonorrhea, and syphilis - and added up infections per 100,000 residents, meaning the higher the number is the more of a chance you will catch something when you bring someone home from the bar,” the website said.

Mississippi took the top spot, with 774 cases of chlamydia, 230.8 cases of gonorrhea, and five cases of syphilis reported per 100,000 residents. In total, 1009.8 STD cases landed the southern state at the top of the list.

Coming in at number two on the list was Alaska, with 858 STD cases. Alabama and Louisiana followed at numbers three and four, respectively.

Other lower-ranked states included Idaho, Maine and Utah. Vermont ranked 49th, with 291.8 total cases of chlamydia, gonorrhea and syphilis reported per 100,000.

New Hampshire proved to be the “least slutty” state in the country, with 246.9 STD cases reported per 100,000 residents.
