Man Leaps Into Moving Car To Save Stranger (Video)

| by Michael Allen

Randy Tompkins jumped into a moving car in Dixon, Illinois, to help a driver who was suffering a seizure on June 2 (video below).

Tompkins announced his heroism on his Facebook page:

Wow I just saved this guy's life in the blue car i jumped in his car he was having a seizure at the wheel the cops said they saw me jump in his window like dukes of Hazzard it was crazy I saw him coming at me so I backed up real fast to the side and jumped out and jumped in his car to stop it wow my adrenaline is still going.

According to a tweet by the Dixon Police Department, the driver ran several red lights and almost hit some other vehicles. A police officer turned the cruiser's lights on to flag the driver down, but the vehicle continued forward at a slow rate of speed into oncoming traffic.

The Dixon police said that a pickup truck driver (Tompkins) could see that something was wrong, jumped out of his pickup truck, ran up to the wayward vehicle, leaped inside the passenger side window and put the car in park just as the police approached the car.

The car's driver was found having a seizure. The police and Tompkins waited for paramedics to arrive.

Back on Tomkins' Facebook page, folks were praising his heroic deed:
