An unidentified man was recently caught on a cell phone video (below) making racist remarks at some Latino construction workers in Henderson, Nevada, in an incident that some have suggested is the "Trump Effect."
The man's rant was apparently triggered by a beeping sound at the construction site, near his home, which is heard on the video, notes KVVU.
"You think people want to hear this constantly," the man yelled.
He then mocked the workers with his impression of them: "Ahh, we don't give a s---. We're f------ wetbacks, illegal wetbacks!"
In another part of the video, the man says, "Let me see your proof of citizenship!"
The man would not identify himself, but told the news station: "I hope Trump wins and deports every one of those illegals and they're all over the place and you cannot deny it."
Construction worker Jorge Tally, who filmed the man's rant, told KVVU: "I said I get out and work for my family, for my kids."
The man was asked by the station reporter if he called the workers "wetbacks," and he replied, "Yeah! They were. They're illegals."
When asked for proof, the man replied: "Just by looking at him. You know God---- well they're illegals and the guy didn't deny it."
According to KVVU's research, Tally is a legal permanent resident.
"This happens a lot, but a lot of people stay quiet because they get scared," Tally added.
"They're wetbacks, they're illegals, get them the f--- out of the country," the man told the news station. "And if you don't like that, that's too bad."
While the man's views do not reflect all Trump supporters, the Republican presidential nominee has said that he is going to deport undocumented immigrants.
The Washington Post noted on Sept. 1 that Trump said during a speech in Phoenix: "Anyone who has entered the United States illegally is subject to deportation."
Trump promised to create a "new special deportation task force," and added:
We will break the cycle of amnesty and illegal immigration. We will break the cycle. There will be no amnesty. Our message to the world will be this: You cannot obtain legal status or become a citizen of the United States by illegally entering our country. Can’t do it.
