| by Kathryn Schroeder

Kylie Jenner broke the no-selfie rule at the Met Gala on May 1.

Attendees of the Met Gala are given one rule: no social media. That includes posting to Instagram, Snapchat, Facebook Live, Periscope, Vine, and any other social media platform, according to Teen Vogue.

Kylie broke the rule when she snapped a group selfie in the bathroom and shared it on Instagram.

Kylie captioned the image: "annual bathroom selfie."  It has been liked more than 2.7 million times on Instagram.

The "no social media" policy at the Met Gala has been in effect since 2015.

Hailey Baldwin shared a photo of herself and Kylie on Snapchat, as well as one of Gigi Hadid and Aziz Ansari.

Tommy Hilfiger took to Snapchat to post a photo of Gig's table, as well as a photo of Bella Hadid and another of Gigi and Bella posing together.

Ansel Elgort snapped a shot of The Weeknd and Nas performing and uploaded it to Snapchat, while Karlie Kloss used Snapchat to also share a photo of The Weeknd.

Kylie previously shared on Snapchat a selfie of herself alone in a mirrored room at the gala.

On Instagram, Lady Gaga posted a picture of a gold cake being cut, and Willow Smith shared a bathroom selfie on the social media site.

Kylie's sister, Kim Kardashian, also ignored the no social media rule at the 2017 Met Gala. She posted multiple photos on Snapchat. In one, she is beside Donatella Versace, Kylie, and Bella.

Another shows her with Lil Yachty and La La Anthony.

Other attendees who broke the rule this year include Ashley Graham, Serena Williams, and Amy Schumer.

In 2016, more than 600 people attended the Met Gala. For 2017, Anna Wintour, Vogue editor-in-chief and chairwoman of the gala, scaled down the invites to keep the event more intimate and private, according to The Sydney Morning Herald. The theme for 2017 was Comme des Garcons's Rei Kawakubo. A ticket to the gala started at $30,000 per person and went as high as $50,000.
