A generous land lord gave one of his tenants an early Christmas gift when he left him a note saying he and his family didn’t have to pay rent through December.

The note, from a landlord named Jack, explained that he knew the family had been having financial trouble between jobs.

“So my gift for you and yours is that I’m waiving your December rent so you can give your family food and a decent Christmas this year,” Jack wrote.

The tenant, Mike, was so touched that he uploaded the picture to Imgur (shown below).

“Found this note from my landlord in my mailbox yesterday, and it’s just too awesome not to share," Mike wrote.

The image has been viewed over 2 million times.

This isn't the first time a landlord has gone above and beyond for a tenant. After one landlord found out that a single mother of two was struggling to make ends meet, he let her and her kids stay in one of his apartments for free, Give It Love reported in November. Even after 15 months, the landlord refused to take rent from the woman, and she used the money to take online classes to earn her degree.
