Kathy Griffin Gets Death Threats, Says Career Is Over (Video)

| by Michael Allen

Comedienne Kathy Griffin held a press conference in Los Angeles on June 2 to announce that she was getting death threats and that her career is likely over (video below).

“I don’t think I will have a career after this," Griffin told reporters, notes Reuters. "I’m going to be honest, [Trump] broke me."

Griffin has been under fire for posing for a picture May 30 while holding a fake bloody severed head that was supposed to represent President Donald Trump. She tweeted a video apology that same night, but has since lost jobs, including her co-hosting gig on CNN's New Year's Eve show with Anderson Cooper.

That job loss was something that Donald Trump Jr. appeared to call for in a tweet: "Will [CNN] keep putting her on air for things like the New Years celebration???"

This young teenage singer was shocked when Keith Urban invited her on stage at his concert. A few moments later, he made her wildest dreams come true.

The president himself called Griffin's picture "sick," and asserted that it traumatized his 11-year-old son Barron.

Griffin repeated her apology for the picture during her press conference, but was also defiant: "I'm not afraid of Donald Trump, he's a bully. I've dealt with older white guys trying to keep me down my whole life, my whole career."

Griffin went on to say that she has performed in war zones for troops, and said she felt "horrible" for making people think of "this tragedy," an apparent reference to ISIS beheadings.

Griffin also went on the offensive against the Trumps:

What's happening to me has never happened ever, in the history of this great country, which is that a sitting president of the United States and his grown children and the first lady are personally, I feel, personally trying to ruin my life, forever. You guys know him, he's never going to stop.

Griffin said that she was getting "deaths threats" that "are constant and they are detailed and they are serious and they are specific."

Griffin said that she has made fun of presidents before, but has not been investigated by the Secret Service until now.

Griffin has insisted that the picture was meant to mock the president's demeaning comments in 2016 about then-Fox News host Megyn Kelly having "blood coming out of her eyes, blood coming out of her -- wherever."

The controversy spilled over on "Jeopardy!" after champion Ken Jennings mocked the notion that Barron was traumatized, notes Fox News.

Jennings tweeted: "Barron Trump saw a very long necktie on a heap of expired deli meat in a dumpster. He thought it was his dad & his little heart is breaking."

Donald Jr. tweeted back: "It takes a real man to pick on an 11 year old. Yet another low from the left, but they will rationalize this away with their usual excuses."

Jennings mocked Donald Jr.'s hunting trips: "I will kill as many white rhinos as it takes to prove my masculinity to Donald Trump Jr."

Donald Jr. tried to go after Jennings through his publisher: "Good point, you would think that in this day & age [Simon & Schuster] would have an issue with one of their children's authors bullying a kid."
