A North Texas jeweler shocked a woman trying to sell a gold necklace given to her by her mother when he refused to buy it from her (video below).

Noah, who did not reveal his last name, is a Syrian refugee who works at a North Texas jewelry store. When a mother walked into his shop and tried to sell him a gold necklace given to her by her mother, he knew he couldn't take the necklace from her, telling KTVT, "It seemed like she was sad and there was tears in her eyes."

The woman told Noah she was broke and needed the money for bills.

"I let her tell me how much she wanted to sell it and I gave her exactly what money she wanted," Noah said.

Noah gave the necklace back to the woman after handing her the money she needed out of his own pockets.

"I didn't think about it, I just grabbed the money. I grabbed the money and gave it to her," he said.

In surveillance video from the store, the mother can be seen tearing up and embracing Noah after his incredibly kind gesture.

Noah said that he was just trying to help somebody out who needed it. He added, "If I had her number I would call her back and see if she needed more money or more help, I'll do it for her."

Noah, a Syrian refugee who came to the U.S. two years ago, said he sent the video to a friend back home, not knowing that his friend would then upload the video, which quickly went viral.

The jeweler said that this kind of generosity is what helped his family make it to America safely.

"Doesn't matter what religion you are. It doesn't matter where you're from," he said. "This is our humanity. Everybody should do that."
