'Jeopardy' Contestant Says Age Of Sexual Consent Is 12 (Video)

| by Michael Allen

A "Jeopardy" contestant gave a bizarre answer on an episode of the game show on April 3.

"Jeopardy" host Alex Trebek asked all three contestants, "In common law, the age of this, signaling adulthood, is presumed to be 14 in boys & 12 in girls" (video below).

The correct answer (question) would have been, "What is puberty?"

A contestant named Tom replied, "What is the age of consent?" noted Daily Mail.

The age of sexual consent in the U.S. varies from 16 to 18.

Tom got slammed repeatedly on Twitter:

"The 'To Catch a Predator' tapings are over in Studio C."

"Should've lost more than just $600 for that incorrect response."

"This is probably the worst moment in the history of Jeopardy."
