A Georgia mother is on a mission to find the soldier who gave her two young boys patches straight off his uniform.

Destiny was shopping at a Walmart in Lawrenceville with her two boys on Jan. 26 when they spotted a soldier in uniform, Fox 5 news reported. Jadyn, 6, and his younger brother Gregory approached the soldier and thanked him for his service.

That’s when the soldier took two patches off his uniform and gave it to Jadyn and Gregory. The family is now on a quest to identify the soldier and thank him properly.

"I saw a soldier at Walmart. I wanted to say thank you, because he fights for our freedom,” Jayden told Fox 5 News. “When I told him thank you he gave me and my baby brother patches from his army uniform. It made me feel very good, because it made me feel special.

“I want to find him so we can make him a thank you note and know his name. He's my hero. Thank you for trying to help my mommy and me find him.”

Destiny narrowed the search down by researching the patches online. She believes the soldier is a part of the 48th Infantry Brigade Combat Team.

“This whole experience has been overwhelming,” she told the news station. “With all the negative in the world, it's wonderful to see something so sweet happen, even if it was something as small as a sweet soldier giving my sons his patches.”

“It is something they will remember for a lifetime,” Destiny added. “The look on Jadyn's face was pure joy and excitement.  He was so excited to receive something so special! My boys, as well as myself, will treasure them forever. We are planning on framing them for the boys’ room!”
