A recent tweet from pancake chain IHOP came under fire, with some social media users calling the message sexist and offensive.

IHOP found its voice on Twitter last year when it started appealing to a younger audience. Among the more popular tweets were: “Pancakes on fleek,” “Pancakes, you look good, won’t you back that stack up,” and “Is it worth it, let me work it. I put my fork down, flip it and reverse it.”

The teen-friendly slang and nod at hip-hop lyrics helped IHOP’s Twitter account gain thousands of retweets and favorites, reports The Huffington Post. But now IHOP is apologizing after posting a tweet that some users did not find funny.

The tweet reads, “flat but has a GREAT personality.” It was posted on Oct. 18 but has since been deleted, Fox 26 reported. Several social media users took screenshots and shared the tweet before it was taken down.

This judge looked an inmate square in the eyes and did something that left the entire courtroom in tears:

“Why does a chain of pancake houses stand for anything? Where does opinion, snark or sexism come into pancakes? It’s pancakes,” one user tweeted in response.

“Can’t teach my Girl Scouts that casual misogyny is okay,” wrote another.

“My son follows this account, this is ridiculous,” wrote a parent.

IHOP tweeted an apology shortly after. It wrote: “Earlier we tweeted something dumb and immature that does not reflect what IHOP stands for. We’re sorry.”

But not everyone was offended by the tweet.

“My seven beautiful sons saw this tweet and asked me what it means. What do I tell them? They are all in their thirties,” wrote another user.
