'Hot Convict' Jeremy Meeks Signs With Modeling Agency While In Jail

| by Michael Allen

For most people in prison, their futures look bleak once they get out of jail because of their criminal record.

However, it's just the opposite for Jeremy Meeks. He has already signed a contract with White Cross Management to become a male model once he leaves a Nevada prison.

Meeks is being held in Nevada, even though he was convicted in California on weapons charges, because the Golden State has a severely overpopulated prison system.

Meeks' mugshot went viral last year after it was posted on Facebook by the Stockton, California, Police Department. Meeks has over 200,000 "Likes" on his own Facebook page.

This young teenage singer was shocked when Keith Urban invited her on stage at his concert. A few moments later, he made her wildest dreams come true.

“I’m in a place where I will be able to provide for my family and really change my life,” Meeks told ABC News. “I never thought that everyone in the world would recognize me for my looks, so I feel extremely blessed and very thankful.”

Meeks was arrested on June 18, 2014, for gun possession (.45 caliber) in Stockton during a gang sweep. Because Meeks had previously been convicted of a felony, grand theft in 2002, he was not allowed to have a gun, noted the New York Daily News.

Meeks was convicted in February of being a felon in possession of a firearm and sentenced to 27 months in jail, plus 500 hours in the Bureau of Prisons Substance Abuse Treatment Program, reported CBS Sacramento.

Meeks plans to use his time in jail to get his body ready for modeling and acting.

“I eat healthy; I do a lot of push-ups, pull-ups, dips, burpees; and I stay very active,” Meeks told ABC News.

“There is a sea of opportunities waiting for him: modeling agencies around the world, endorsement deals and reality-show interests,” agent Jim Jordan of White Cross Management told ABC News.
