A dog owner was shocked to discover that her Rottweiler and her West Highland Terrier secretly mated, and she was even more amazed when she saw what the puppies looked like.

Teresa Patterson says she had no idea that the terrier and the Rottweiler had mated until the puppies were actually born.

“I was completely shocked, I didn’t think nature would let this happen but at some point it did,” Paterson said of her tiny terrier Joey and her big Rottweiler Zara mating, according to JustSomething. “The puppies have a lovely temperament like their parents. They are high maintenance as they want attention all the time.

"One of the puppies, Sparkie, which our son is having, follows me everywhere I go. But this won’t happen again – Joey will be going to the vets soon.”

Paterson also said that they believe the impregnation happened immediately after they first got Joey, according toi the Daily Mail..

People have reportedly been completely in awe of the appearances of the tiny pups, and animal experts say it’s incredibly rare for these two breeds to mate, especially because of the huge difference in size. The crossbreed is now being referred to as a “Wottie.”
