A 38-year-old man reportedly shot himself in the penis in the early morning hours of June 30 in Jacksonville, Florida, when he sat on a gun inside a car.
According to police, the man ran into the bathroom in his home, notes WJXT. A woman in the home saw the man's injury and drove him to the hospital, where doctors performed surgery.
Because the man suffered a gunshot wound, the police were notified and came to the hospital around 3 a.m. Subsequently, the officers discovered the man had a prior conviction of cocaine possession in 2004, which meant he was not allowed to possess a gun.
The man could be charged for possessing the firearm, which could result in a possible jail sentence.

In one more strange incident, a homeowner in Grand Blanc Township, Michigan, lost his garage after he tried to use some fireworks to destroy a bees' nest on July 3, notes MLive.com.
When first responders arrived, they found fireworks shooting up from a burning garage owned by Mike Tingley.
Grand Blanc Fire Chief Bob Burdette said: "The homeowner was doing something with a smoke bomb trying to get a bees' nest out of the garage."
There were no injuries and the only other property damage was to a neighboring fence, according to officials.
Tingley was glad the damage wasn't worse:
We really weren't going to celebrate the Fourth of July so much as we just have fun in our backyard, we like to have barbecues, we had a patio back there. It is depressing losing a place where we had a lot of fun, but everyone is safe and that's the main thing.
