Black Lives Matter activist MarShawn McCarrel killed himself outside the Ohio Statehouse after posting a chilling final Facebook status on Feb. 8.

McCarrel, the founder of a mentorship program called Pursuing Our Dreams and a homeless charity called Feed the Streets, posted to social media just hours before committing suicide, Heavy reports.

"My demons won today," he wrote on Facebook. "I'm sorry."

He also took to Twitter, declaring that he "pissed on the state house" before taking his own life.

The 23-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene.

"We don't have any evidence to know the reason why he did it," Lt. Craig Cvetan of the State Highway Patrol said, according to The Columbus Dispatch.

There were reportedly no witnesses to McCarrel's death.
