One clever dog figured out how to escape his owner’s backyard via trampoline and follow him to work.

Paddy, the 4-year-old pup, apparently discovered that by jumping on a child’s trampoline, he could fly over the 6-foot fence and follow his owner Thomas McCormack to work. One day, McCormack left Paddy in the backyard before he went to work. However, Paddy escaped and followed McCormack to the train station, onto the carriage and took a seat behind his owner.

“I was shocked,” McCormack said. “He just looked at me as if he was saying ‘Where are you going?’”

McCormack was impressed by his pet’s escape and later learned from neighbors how the dog had pulled it off. Neighbors had apparently watched the dog escape.

McCormack said that recently he had discovered Paddy outside the front door and couldn’t figure out how that had happened. He speculated that Paddy has probably tried to follow him to work before, but had never managed to follow him successfully until recently.

“I was thinking ‘How did he get over there?’” McCormack said. “Then the neighbor told me he was bouncing on the trampoline and came flying over the fence. That’s how he got out.”

McCormack has since moved the trampoline in order to prevent Paddy from escaping again.
