A woman who crashed her car says a stray dog that happened to be nearby when the accident happened saved her life (video below).
Shannon Lorio says she was driving too fast down a rural road in Georgia when she fishtailed and was thrown out of the car's back window. She landed in a way that was not visible to other drivers on the road, so from the start, it didn’t look like she would make it.
Lorio says she felt a “huge presence” next to her and realized a stray dog was licking her bloody face. Moments later, the dog tugged onto Lorio and dragged her 100 feet towards the road so passersby could see her and summon help.
“That dog had more thrive for life at that point than I did,” Lorio said, reports LittleThings.com.
Once the dog got Lorio to the road, a driver noticed them and stopped to call an ambulance. Thankfully, Lorio was saved, although she did suffer a hemorrhage. Still, Lorio believes she would be dead today if it wasn’t for the dog’s bravery.
LIttleThings.com notes the dog wound up being adopted by a canine search and rescue trainer and is now doing the same thing he did that day for Lorio. His new name is Hero.
