Chalkboard Sign Posted Outside Florida Bar Goes Viral (Photo)

A Florida bar has gone viral for a humorous chalkboard sign that reads: “The fact that there's a highway to hell and only a stairway to heaven says a lot about anticipated traffic numbers.”

The songs “Highway To Hell” and “Stairway To Heaven” by the rock bands AC/DC and Led Zeppelin, respectively, may sound familiar, but the origins of the phrase outside Casey’s on Central in downtown Orlando are unclear.

Social media buzzed with the debate over the bar’s sign, with one user on Reddit chiming in with a passage from the Bible.

“‘Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it.’ -Mathew 7:13,” the user commented.

“Escalator to Heaven broken. Temporarily stairs. Sorry for the convenience,” another Redditor joked.

Check out a photo of the sign, which has since garnered nearly 2 million views on Imgur, below:

This isn’t the first time Casey’s has made headlines. In 2013, a bartender was fired after writing the following on its chalkboard sign: “I like my beer like I like my violence, domestic.”

WESH reported that an ex-employee who was hired for the night had made the sign. The owner of Casey’s apologized.
