Bristol Palin's Son Pictured Playing With Toy Gun

| by Jordan Smith

Reality TV personality Bristol Palin's 8-year-old son, Tripp, has been seen in an Instagram picture playing with a toy gun, reminding some of the controversy Bristol sparked last year when she posted a picture of the boy playing with an actual gun.

The recent image caused controversy after it was posted by the boy's stepfather, Dakota Meyer. But many of his followers approved of it, according to Daily Mail.

It showed Tripp taking aim with the toy weapon while wearing a camouflage hat and sweatshirt.

"I couldn't be prouder to be his stepdad!" the Medal of Honor recipient captioned the photo.

This young teenage singer was shocked when Keith Urban invited her on stage at his concert. A few moments later, he made her wildest dreams come true.

Tripp is Palin's only son from her relationship with former fiance Levi Johnston.

Some of Meyer's Instagram followers commented in support of his decision to encourage his stepson.

"He looks like a mini army ranger!" wrote one.

Another described Tripp as a "future marine," before adding, "He's got a great example."

Others seemed to want Meyer and Palin to go further.

"Nerf guns really?? Give him some real guns!" wrote one.

Both Palin and Meyer are known as supporters of gun rights.

Images surfaced of Palin giving Tripp a shooting lesson in July 2016. Both were pictured wearing protective eyewear and earmuffs as Palin stood behind Tripp while he practiced his aim in a field. At that time, the image went viral and sparked outrage among some.

"Yes, this is the perfect toy for a small child - a gun," one outraged user commented. "Seriously sh***y parenting skills."

Palin and Meyer have a 1-year-old daughter, Sailor Grace. Palin is expecting another child in spring 2017. The couple were married in 2016.

Palin posted a collection of pictures to Instagram in mid-January to show off some gifts her son and husband had given to her.

"My son and husband always making me feel like a princess after a long day of work, so excited about this pregnancy pillow," she wrote.

Palin was in the news when she criticized the Women's March on Washington, where women protested President Donald Trump. She wrote in a post that the protesters were "setting women back decades," reports Daily Mail.

"If today's 'feminists' only knew what real feminism is, maybe they could relax a little," she added.

Palin went on to suggest that women should instead march in "Islamic countries that murder women for showing more than their eyes in public."
