Comedian Amy Schumer recently defended her bathing suit picture against Internet trolls who mocked her figure when she first posted the image on Instagram on May 23.

The 34-year-old actress originally posted the picture of herself in a one-piece bathing suit in Hawaii with the caption "BGF," which is short for "big friendly giant," according to Mashable. But some people posted some negative comments about her figure.

Schumer went back and changed the caption to say:

I meant to write "good morning trolls!" I hope you find some joy in your lives today in a human interaction and not just in writing unkind things to a stranger you've never met who triggers something in you that makes you feel powerless and alone.

This is how I look. I feel happy. I think I look strong and healthy and also like miss trunchbull from Matilda. Kisses!

Schumer was repeatedly praised by her fans for her new posting and picture.

In April, Schumer objected to being added to what she considered a "plus size" issue by Glamour magazine, noted Salon.

In response, Schumer wrote on Instagram:

I think there’s nothing wrong with being plus size. Beautiful healthy women. Plus size is considered size 16 in America. I go between a size 6 and an 8.

@glamourmag put me in their plus size only issue without asking or letting me know and it doesn’t feel right to me.

Young girls seeing my body type thinking that is plus size? What are your thoughts? Mine are not cool glamour not glamourous.

A Glamour spokesperson responded at the time:

First off, we love Amy, and our readers do too – which is why we featured her on the cover of Glamour last year.

The cover line on this special edition – which is aimed at women size 12 and up – simply says "Women Who Inspire Us," since we believe her passionate and vocal message of body positivity IS inspiring, as is the the message of the many other women, of all sizes, featured.

The edition did not describe her as plus-size. We are sorry if we offended her in any way.
