"Any physical activity helps your health and is also a good stress reliever," she said in an interview with Health, speaking about her intensive schedule of training, kickboxing and yoga.
She also said exercise helped her become more confident in her appearance.
"I was always pretty skinny," Tisdale said. "I didn’t have any curves. I remember watching myself in 'High School Musical 2.' I had a lot of hair and I was in a bathing suit and I thought, 'I just look like a bobblehead!'"
In 2013, Tisdale told E! News that she struggled with confidence in her appearance. "I always feel like I could look better. I'm like, 'ew,'" the actress said.
Tisdale told E! that she and her husband Christopher French weren't planning to have kids "anytime soon."
Singer Selena Gomez, who has gotten similar comments about her body, said her experience with body-shaming led to her decision to pose nude on her "Revival" album cover.
"It hurt my feelings because I never experienced that before, but I didn't want [that] to be the story, so I said, 'I don't care what you think!'" said Gomez about the comments she received online and in the media.
"I'm learning that you can be comfortable and still look beautiful," Gomez said of her experiences. "Some days, I like what I see. Other days I'm like, 'I'm not even going to bother.'"
