CBS L.A. Reporter Serene Branson 'Fine' After Slurred Grammy Report

CBS reporter Serene Branson is doing fine after she slurred her words during a live Grammy report.

Branson was outside the Staples Center for CBS 2 News in Los Angeles on Sunday, and after being introduced from the studio to share “highlights and backstage coverage” from the awards bash, she began slurring her words.

The showbiz journalist stumbled on the word “heavy,” and then began slurring and speaking undecipherable words.

“Well, a very, very heavy burtation tonight,” she said, while struggling to speak for nearly 10 seconds, before the video cut to pre-recorded Grammy coverage.

Several reports speculated that Branson was taken to the hospital after the episode, but we now know this was not the case.

CBS released the following statement:

“Serene Branson was examined by paramedics on scene immediately after her broadcast. Her vital signs were normal. She was not hospitalized. As a precautionary measure, a colleague gave her a ride home and she says that she is feeling fine this morning.”

Kim Baldonado, an NBC 4 News reporter in Los Angeles, wrote on Twitter: “Sending my best to Serene Branson that she’s OK. It doesn’t sound like it’s anything to laugh about.”

Poor woman. Very glad to hear she’s okay. Wishing her all the best.
