Saturday Night Live Rightly Says Obama Hasn't Done Anything Yet

As usual, SNL hits the nail on the head. Saturday Night Live took a
stab at Obama this past week for his failure to accomplish … well, much
of anything. Despite the tea-partiers and deathers and
Glenn-Beck-watchers decrying Obama for destroying our country with
“socialist” or “facist” or “communist” agenda, the Left are the ones
who should be disappointed with the President. Despite his campaign
promises, SNL points out he has failed to close Guantanamo Bay, make
strides towards leaving Iraq, improve the situation in Afghanistan,
prosecute torture, pass healthcare reform, or repeal Don’t Ask Don’t
Tell or DOMA.

Here are a few more campaign promises that we set out to “Remind Obama” starting at the inauguration.

Think the video is unfair to Obama? Or are there other items you would like to add to his “Not Done” list? Leave your thoughts in the comments.

As typical critics do, most commenters here are sidetracked and fail to see the real issues eg...
Insurance isn't the health care problem, it is runaway costs of the medical industry...

What Obama has or has not done doesn't matter, deciding how to get rid of him does matter!

etc, etc...

True analytical thinkers with logical minds seek out the real problems and do not waste debate on the frivolity of minutia!

I do find it amusing that there are those that want to "fact check" a comedy skit. It is no doubt that Obama has failed to deliver on many of his promises, and most casual observers would agree that with a democrat controlled congress , most of Obama's agenda should have breezed through.

Even sadder yet, save for FNC, most media outlets are stuck in Obama adoration mode with a collective tingle up the leg ala Chris Mathews. None dare criticize the messiah in chief. It took a lil SNL skit to point out the obvious, even if not entirely accurate, it was more truthful than most alleged news media reports.

aside from the fact that he hasn't kept any of his promises, some of which I'd rather he didn't keep, that bothers me is the media decrying SNL for doing what they've always done. "oh they picked on obama wahhhh" ... I still see "Bush is a Nazi" bumper stickers and documentaries being manufactured. And I live in a red state.

I am not a big fan of SNL, especially when you consider that some of the greats in comedy that started SNL are no longer there or have passed on.

However, this skit could jut as easily be a republican ad showing the ineffectiveness of this president. Here we have a President with clear majorities in both house and senate yet as we approach the one year mark, nothing of any substance has occurred.

Can you imagine if McCain had been elected instead with this congress ? It is obvious that had this been the case, the skits would have started earlier.

I think the honeymoon is finally starting to fade away although there are some stalwart Obama worshipers at NBC & MSNBC that continue to bow and chant MMM MMM MM....Barack Hussein Obama.

Of course, all of Obama's dare I say failures or lack of achievements are all Bush's fault. The fact we have total one party rule in this country at this moment does not matter. Its the evil Republicans, conservatives and lets not forget the evil empire called FOX News Channel.

Despite my disgust at what GWB's administration did to the economy , I did not vote for Obama. I felt that I owed the Republicans my loyalty for working with people like me on the gun control issue, and I feared what the Democrats might do on that front if given the power.

However, I find I like Obama more and more as time goes on. First, he has (so far) stayed away from the gun control issue for the most part. Second, this economy has made me reconsider socialized medicine -- as the cost of private insurance sky-rockets, and even many educated people with work skills and experience find themselves unable to find a professional-level job of the kind which provides decent benefits . Third, the problems we face with the economy at home and evil terrorists abroad are so deep, I don't expect _anyone_ to solve them easily.

So I might well vote for Obama's re- election .

Live from NY its SN! He didn't look or sound at all like Obama, but it was still hilarious! Since when did CNN fact check comedy skits? Since liberal ding-dongs blew their chance to take a few more measured steps toward their socialist utopian nightmare. Over-reach...fall down! At least we get a good laugh out of it.

Lighten up and join the Sarah lovers, you Barach lovers. If comedy brings you up, it can take you down.

I'd be thrilled if he could "just" undo what Bush and Cheney have done in 8 years and prosecute them and their minions for war crimes. Instead, he's continued many of the same policies started by Bush's Executive Orders, our government is no more transparent, he's made backroom deals with Big Pharma, warrantless wiretaps continue, as does "extraordinary rendition", he's filled his administration with Goldman Sachs' thieves, he hasn't acted on global warming , and this constitutional scholar hasn't taken one step to restore the damage done to our interpretation of that document and the rule of law . There is always time to do the right thing...

I love the list, seriously. I would just add this little caveat: the dude has been in office for 8.5 months.
