In a surprising move, Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin has announced she will resign from her post July 26 -- with two years left in her term. Saying she didn't feel she could do her job effectively and that her family had to come first, Palin didn't rule out a run for U.S. president in 2012.

“We’ve got to put first things first. I love my job, and I love Alaska. I am doing what’s best for Alaska,” Palin said Friday at a press conference in her hometown of Wasilla.

I cannot help but wonder what the real reason behind this is? A run for the presidency? A way to dodge a scandal? Or perhaps she has learned that she can make more money as a public speaker then as governor?

She can make more money as a public a speaker

Presidential aspirations are out. Heck, if I ran the RNC, I'd pay her not to run.

I bet she would take the money and run.

I'm sorry. I'm as liberal democrat as you can get, but what Palin did to the Republican party just depressed me.

It's what the Dems did to her that will come back to bite you in the ass. You think she took down the Republicans, you're so very wrong. You think she's out of the picture? Again, wrong. You are underestimating her and you shouldn't do that. Just why are you guys so scared of her? Because you know you don't have an answer for her!

It's Sarah Palin we're talking about here, not Imhotep. I'm not terrified, and neither is anyone else, of the mummy's curse. And how did we not have an answer for her? She was almost as public, if not more so, than John McCain in the 2008 election . And we won.

by your sleazy attacks. You don't attack politicians who don't present a threat to you. I think we can agree that our sitting Vice President has nothing in the way of intelligence on Sarah, but I wouldn't attack Biden, he's not a threat, so why do you attack Palin? Believe me, I'm good with you continuing to make like she's a dead horse. So was Mine That Bird right before she won the KY Derby.

So you must be terrified of:

Joan Walsh
Barack Obama
Liberals in general.
And me.

I'm harmless, by the way.

I said ATTACK = fear, and I have not attacked Joan Walsh or you. I don't agree philosophically with much (not all!) of the liberal agenda, but I try not to attack libs, I'd prefer to debate them and perhaps learn a thing or two.

Now Obama...you bet I fear him, and all he is trying to do! Scared to death of what he is trying to do to this country, but also angry at his lies that got him elected, angry at the poor uneducated saps who believed his no new taxes drivel, out of gitmo out of Iraq, I'm going to give us 5 days to read the bills, no more pork, no more Washington as usual drivel.

If I were one of those people who believed him and voted for him for all he promised, I'd be sooooo pissed right now. And you know what, THEY are realizing what it is they dragged home with them.
