Sarah Palin for President? Most Say No

If Sarah Palin is considering a run for president in 2012, she may want to rethink her plans after a new poll shows the majority of Americans think she would be ineffective.

A new 60 Minutes/Vanity Fair poll (how did those two get together?) released Monday found that 59% of Americans don't think Palin would make a good commander-in-chief.

Results showed 75% of Democrats and 63% of independents did not feel she would be effective. Those numbers are to be expected. But what is a surprise is that just 40% of Republicans said Palin would make an effective President.

When asked if they were confident she would be successful, just 26% said yes -- 47% of Republicans, 12% of Democrats, and 21% of independents.

Despite the rampant talk that Palin intends to run for the Republican nomination in 2012, she will not reveal her plans just yet.

"I’ve never committed to running for President,” she told Fox News earlier this month. "That’s not where my focus is."
