Russell Crowe to Play Jor-El In "Superman" Remake?

Russell Crowe is in talks to play Superman’s biological father, Jor-El, in the Zack Snyder-directed Superman reboot, according to Variety.

Marlon Brando previously played the role in the Richard Donner-directed Superman in 1978, alongside Christopher Reeve.

Warner Brothers has yet to confirm that Crowe is in talks for the role. If all goes ahead he will join Henry Cavill as Superman, Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Kevin Costner as Jonathan Kent, Diane Lane as Martha Kent, and Michael Shannon as Zod.

The Hollywood Reporter says that Sean Penn and Clive Owen were also reportedly considered for the role of Jor-El.
