Rush Limbaugh: "I Love Women's Movement, Especially Walking Behind It"

With its popularity waning, the Miss America pagent went out and got controversial radio host Rush Limbaugh to be one of the judges for last weekend's pagent. And perhaps it worked -- ratings were up, 4.5 million, compared to 3.5 million a year ago. Whether Limbaugh had anything to do with it is anyone's guest. While Limbaugh was a gentleman during telecast, it's comments aired on Fox News on Wednesday that could be considered sexist.

Interviewed by "Fox and Friends" Gretchen Carlson, Limbaugh shrugged off critics who claim that he should not be a judge because comments in the past reveal a disdain for women. For example, he coined the phrase "feminazi."

"Oh, I’m a huge supporter of women. What I’m not a supporter of is liberalism. Feminism is what I oppose, and feminism has led women astray. I love women. I don’t know where all this got started. I love the women’s movement — especially when walking behind it."

This is a statement that I would think would be protested. But then it is Rush. He is the expert on everything, kinda like the Wizard of OZ was a real magician.

Where's the whale hunters when we need one?

By the way, more than twice as many people play World of Warcraft as watch Miss America. I'm not suggesting one over the other here (elsewhere: WoW is kinda shallow and commercial, but not as shallow and commercial as pageantry) but it's interesting to note the evolution of pop culture.

Awaiting backup.

They were last heard saying, "I think we're gonna need a bigger boat."

The plural of 'anecdote' is not 'data'.

off the coast of Cuba?

Very funny post. I even imagine the chihuahua from the taco bell commercials with godzilla a decade or so back saying it.
