A TGI Friday’s in Garland, Texas, is being accused by a Muslim woman named Nicole Queen after a waiter allegedly put pieces of bacon in to her iced tea.
According to local reports, Queen asked the waiter to exclude the bacon from her Cobb salad because her religion forbids the consumption of pork. She said the table was not served well the entire time they were at the restaurant, and thought maybe the waiter was a bit feeling at ease with the request.
“Me and my friends were like, 'Let's be extra nice to him, because maybe he’s not comfortable with us because we’re Muslim,'” Queen said.
When Queen and her friends had finished their meal, another waiter asked if she would like a free refill of the iced tea to-go. She thought it was a nice gesture after experiencing terrible service. However, when Queen took a sip of her iced tea with a straw, bits of bacon filled her mouth.

“I knew right away that it was bacon,” she said. “And I knew right away that it had been placed in my straw because that was the the first thing that went into my mouth.”
Queen does know what bacon tastes like because she is a converted Muslim and has eaten it before converting.
In a Facebook post, the restaurant chain says it does not tolerate any kind of discrimination.
“We've spoken to the guest and we are working with her to investigate what happened,” the chain said in an update. “Thank you for your patience. We're taking the issue very seriously and we'll continue to provide updates as we have them.

“We take this matter very seriously, as it would represent a gross violation of our values and the promise we make to each of our guests,” a spokesman for TGI Friday’s stated. “We will take any appropriate actions necessary based on the findings.”
Queen does not plan on filing a lawsuit against the restaurant.
