Texas Sheriff Insults Clergy Outside Jail Where Sandra Bland Died (Video)

| by Michael Allen

Hannah Adair Bonner, who was ordained in the United Methodist Church, posted a video (below) today on Twitter of Waller County Sheriff R. Glenn Smith telling her, "Why don’t you go back to the church of Satan that you run?”

RawStory.com notes that Bonner was holding her daily vigil outside the Waller County Jail in Texas, which she has been doing since Sandra Bland died in the jail.

In the video, Smith asks Bonner if she needs a business card, and then makes his comment.

Bonner later tweeted: "Sheriff then went to my car, took pics of license plate and my face and threatened he is going to do something with them #sandySTILLspeaks."

Smith told The Washington Post in July that Bland was responsible for her own death, and denied there was any racism in Waller County.

“The average citizen goes about their life seven days a week enjoying it, everybody working together, eating in restaurants together and socializing," Smith said. “I just don’t think it exists.”
