Hospital Fires Santa Claus, Brings Him Back

| by Michael Allen

The Hollings Cancer Center of the Medical University of South Carolina let go of Santa volunteer Frank Cloyes on Tuesday because the hospital is affiliated with the state and there had been complaints from patients who were not Christian.

The hospital released a statement saying there was a “passionate response” from the public and patients after The Post and Courier ran a story about Santa’s firing. The hospital now says it will allow holiday traditions of all faiths because of the emotional benefits they provide for patients.

Ironically, Santa Claus is not religious figure and has never endorsed any religion, except that of the Almighty Dollar.
