Real-Life 'Grinch' Swipes Christmas Packages In Washington Neighborhood (Video)

| by Khier Casino

A Washington state resident caught a woman on camera last week stealing Christmas packages from the front porch of his home.

“I was expecting a package that we ordered on Amazon and I went ‘Wait, the package should have been delivered already,’” Weyn told KIRO 7 Eyewitness News.

According to Gawker, Dandy Weyn of Bothell, Wash., used his Logitech Alert system to capture the thief on video.

An hour after the second delivery, the video shows a woman driving a blue Mitsubishi SUV pull up in front of Weyn’s house. The woman got out of the vehicle, grabbed the two packages from the front porch and drove off with the boxes in the back seat.

This judge looked an inmate square in the eyes and did something that left the entire courtroom in tears:

“Thank you so much grinch!” YouTube user therealDandyman wrote at the end of the video. “Up to the next house? Hope you get caught and locked up in jail for a long time.”

Fortunately, according to KIRO, the thief only took about $140 worth of fliers.

Weyn discovered that similar thefts had already happened to other Bothell residents.

“I assumed it was a mix up in the delivery until I started hearing that it was happening to other people,” neighbor Sandy Madan told KIRO.

Weyn says he is planning a “box out,” which involves putting “a tracking device in so you can capture where they're going,” he told the news station.

The Seattle Times reported a Tacoma woman was arrested in Bothell early Monday morning after police were called on a report of stolen mail. It is not clear if the alleged thief is connected to the stolen fliers reported above.
