Pastor Kevin Swanson recently warned on his "Generations" radio show that the Hulu series "The Handmaid’s Tale" could lead to the genocide of Christians (video below).
Swanson warned this persecution of Christians could happen because of the power of Hollywood, notes Right Wing Watch.
Swanson began the segment by saying that the "The Handmaid's Tale" was also "new book," when it actually came out in 1985.
Margaret Atwood's award-winning book is a futuristic tale about a theocratic military dictatorship, the Republic of Gilead, taking over the U.S. and instituting Bible-like laws that reduce women to second-class citizens and reproductive "handmaids."

Swanson said that his wife read part of the book and called it "twisted." He went on to compare the book to state-sponsored media produced by the Nazi Germany:
They create a straw man, they create a gigantic caricature of a Biblical Christian and then they turn them into rapists, so this kind of thing is propaganda, pure and simple propaganda. This is the kind of thing that happened with the Jews in the 1930s.
The German media found a way in which they could characterize the Jews in certain ways, and the populace generally turned against them and increasingly supported the Nazi regime. And it happened, largely through media. I think we need to remember that media is extremely powerful, and it has influence on people.
Swanson continued by saying average people do not think critically or read the Bible for themselves to see what it really says. He added that these average folks are "just happy to receive whatever the recent Hulu producer is giving them":

It’s not that difficult to get the mob moving in the right direction, or the wrong direction as the case may be. So I think what happens with this kind of series is that it’s going to turn the masses against Christians. It’s the Rwanda thing, it’s the German thing.
Remember, the Rwanda media increasingly turned one of the racial groups against the other racial group in the Rwanda genocide that occurred, what was it, ten years ago? That is the kind of thing that has happened throughout history. We saw it happen in Germany, we saw it happen in Rwanda.
Now, I guess the question is, could it happen in the United States of America or are we completely immune from any of these particular things? I don’t think we are. I think the influences of Hollywood, the influences of these powerful producers can turn the masses more and more against Biblical Christians.
According to Metacritic, "The Handmaid’s Tale" has a 92 percent average rating by 40 critics.
