Orlando International Airport To Add Muslim Prayer Room

Orlando International Airport will reportedly soon be opening a Muslim prayer room.

According to WKMG-TV, the airport will spend $250,000 to build the "Reflection Room," where Muslims can pray. The decision to add the room was made after Emirates Airlines announced that it will offer non-stop flights from Orlando to Dubai.

At the Orlando airport, many Muslims pray in public, or even in the bathrooms. The airport's director of public affairs, Carolyn Fennell, said that the "Reflection Room" will give Muslims a more suitable place to pray so that they don't have to kneel on a bathroom floor or in the corner of a room.

The "Reflection Room" is scheduled to open by Sept. 1, the date of the first Emirates flight.
