In an ABC News interview that aired on Sept. 22, Rowan County, Kentucky, clerk Kim Davis cried when recalling how people have called her a Christian hypocrite (video below).

Davis, who claimed to be obeying God's authority while denying a lawful marriage license to a same-sex couple earlier this month, also complained that she had been called a "homophobe."

Davis began to break down as she said:

What people say about me does not define who I am. That’s everybody’s opinion and that’s everybody’s right. I've been called Hitler. I've been called a hypocrite. I've been called a homophobe. I've been called things and names that I didn't even say when I was in the world.

Those names don't hurt me. What probably hurts me the worst is when someone tells me that my God does not love me or that my God is not happy with me, that I am a hypocrite of a Christian.

Davis was accompanied during her interview with Mat Staver, her attorney, who compared Davis to a Jewish person being persecuted by Nazis during an interview on the Family Research Council's “Washington Watch” radio show on Sept. 4, noted

Staver also invoked Nazis in March when he promised to disobey the U.S. Supreme Court if the high court legalized gay marriage, reported (video below).
