Evangelist Franklin Graham advised Christians on Oct. 3 to think about the U.S. military funding sex changes and not reports of Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump not paying taxes for the past 15 years.
The New York Times reported on Oct. 1 that Trump wrote off a $916 million loss on his 1995 income tax returns, which tax experts told the newspaper could enable Trump to not pay taxes for the next 18 years because the $916 million loss carries over to the following years.
The New York Times, which obtained pages from Trump's 1995 tax returns from an unknown source, notes that Trump was paid $45 million between 1995 and 2009 when he headed a publicly traded company that he (Trump) created to take over his failing Atlantic City casinos. Meanwhile, the people who invested in this new company watched their shares drop from $35.50 to 17 cents, contractors were not paid for their casino work and casino bondholders made pennies on the dollar.
While the news continues to make big headlines, Graham directed his Facebook readers to an article on USA TODAY about taxpayer-funded gender reassignment treatments and surgeries in the military. Graham added his outrage:
Popular VideoThis young teenage singer was shocked when Keith Urban invited her on stage at his concert. A few moments later, he made her wildest dreams come true.
The media keep talking about it, but to be honest with you, nobody gives a rip about Donald J. Trump’s taxes. What people do care about is their own taxes. And when I read about the government spending $8.4 million of taxpayers’ money a year—starting today—for things like gender reassignment and hormone therapy for military personnel, I’m disgusted! Aren’t you?
This is the kind of immoral garbage President Obama and his administration are allowing to be put in place in our country. $8.4 million a year—with all the things our military needs—can you believe that? Things like this need to be stopped. It just shows you how morally warped our politicians have become.
Yahoo News reported on Oct. 3 that Trump has slammed other people at least ten times for not paying income taxes or not paying enough: Folks who do not legally earn enough to pay income taxes (but do pay payroll taxes), President Obama, Facebook co-founder Eduardo Saverin, "bad people," hedge fund managers, Amazon.com and companies that build manufacturing plants in foreign countries.
