A crew from "Full Frontal With Samantha Bee" recently interviewed Christian attendees at the Western Conservative Summit in Denver and asked them why they support presumptive Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump (video below).

"I believe, truly, that Trump is appointed by God to lead this nation back in the direction that it needs to go," a woman wearing a cowboy hat told the TBS TV show. The interviews aired on the show's July 18 episode.

"Donald Trump is the answer to our prayers," a man added.

A young boy said, "We know he is a godly man."

The TV show noted that Trump has been married three times, publicly admitted his adultery, made sexual comments about his daughter Ivanka, and has owned gambling casinos.

"People are painting him as a bad person, he is not," a second woman said.

"You know, everyone has warts and wrinkles," a second man added.

A woman wearing a "Make America Great Again" cap said: "We're all sinners, he's a sinner, we're a sinner, all of us are sinners so."

Another man explained that because Trump "is not presenting his best self" he is likely not hiding much, which means he is a good person.

The boy said: "Just because you're Christian doesn't mean that you have go to church every Sunday. You don't have to go to Bible study every Wednesday. You don't have to have the Bible in your right hand at every moment of your life and our main goal is to defeat Hillary Clinton."

The show then asked Christians about Clinton, the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee.

"I personally believe that Hillary is evil," an older woman said.

"We know that Hillary Clinton is a known liar, we know that," added a young woman.

The man who had earlier explained about Trump's openness about his dirty laundry said that Trump has better morality than the Clintons because Trump doesn't hire hookers, or at least "has the decency to wed them," isn't murdering people, and is not killing babies.

The young boy and his mother said they both supported banning Muslims from the U.S.

The boy complained that President Barack Obama would not say the words "radical Islamic terrorism" and insisted that Obama is a Muslim. The boy did not offer any proof to support his assertation.

On June 30, controversial Christian historian David Baron suggested on his "Wallbuilders" radio show that Trump may be God's candidate, reported RightWingWatch.org:

This may not be our preferred candidate, but that doesn't mean it may not be God's candidate to do something that we don't see. We may look back in a few years and say, "Wow, he really did some things that none of us expected."

So I am fully open to the possibility that because we did everything as Christians we could, we can't complain about our turnout, we can't complain about our quality of candidates, and this is what the people chose.

I'm a whole lot more open to the fact that God may have something going here that is much bigger than what we think or see.
