The hosts of the 'Fox and Friends' morning show expressed outrage on Wednesday that the principal of Heritage Elementary School in Madison, Wisconsin told teachers to have an "academic egg hunt" instead of an Easter egg hunt, which was reported by WHNT.com.

“Some people say the bunny comes from paganism or is a symbol of fertility or something like that,” responded Gretchen Carlson, reports RawStory.com. “Have we just gotten so deep into this political correctness that we now just can’t take the religion as it is, celebrate it and move on?”

“I don’t remember a bunny in the Bible story,” Steve Doocy added. “I feel sorry for those kids, though. They can’t say the E-word.”

“What about Easter Island?” Carlson asked. “If they study that in geography... This is how it becomes so ridiculous. Let’s just call it Easter and move on. Next week, you don’t have to worry about it.”
