Video: Rev. William Owens Compares President Obama to Judas
Rev. William Owens, founder of the Coalition of African-Americans Pastors, on Tuesday, compared President Barack Obama to Judas, who betrayed Jesus for thirty pieces of silver (video below).
Rev. Owens said at the National Press Club: “The President is in the White House because of the civil rights movement, and I was a leader in that movement, and I didn’t march one inch, one foot, one yard for a man to marry a man or a woman to marry a woman.”
“So the President has forgotten the price that was paid. People died or they suffered or they gave their blood to have equal rights in the United States. And for the homosexual community and for the President to bow to the money, as Judas did with Jesus Christ, is a disgrace and we are ashamed. We will not take it back. We will not back down. We are going to take action across this country to change the course that this President has us in.”
Rev. Owens, who consults with the National Organization for Marriage (NOM) as a liaison to black churches, has launched a national campaign urging African-American voters to oppose the reelection of Obama.
Documents released in March, revealed that NOM planned to “drive a wedge between gays and blacks” to prevent same sex marriage from becoming legal.

Even if you have a furnace or
Even if you have a furnace or air conditioning units, you should still consider installing ceiling fans.Lots of ceiling fan designs will resemble the very first ceiling fans ever to come out- the 1920s, 1930s and 1940s, and look either Hippie or Standard depending on where the ceiling fan is installed. Most fans operate at more than one speed so that you can adjust the cooling/heating level that best suits you.Ceiling fans are available in a wide variety of shapes, sizes and colors.

This is not Stalin's Russia
This is not Stalin's Russia or Hitler's Reich. The Rev. has a right to voice his views and those of his congregation. To mock a man who has spent and even risked his life for the betterment of his people demonstrates true intolerance. Shame on all of you who feel the need to slander him..
Yes he has a right to express
Yes he has a right to express his opinions, and we have the same right to call those opinions idiotic, or the clear result of a schizophrenic/diseased mind.
Mocking him for his archaic/bronze age beliefs is not wrong, nor is it disrespectful, it is simply pointing out flaws in his logic.
Also, we can be intolerant of bigotry, thats what the civil rights movement was all about, after all. Also, in print an untrue/unverified statement that defames someones character is "libel". And stating, that he is essentially saying that he got freedom for his people, and no one else deserves it isn't inaccurate, it is clearly pointing out what he is saying and the hypocrisy inherent in his statements. So there isn't any libel here. So, no shame for pointing out that he is being a hypocrite/bigot. Bigotry is NOT a family value, and I am sick of people trying to frame it that way. Hatred is hatred is hatred. Period. People need to stop this crap, thought it would have ended after the civil rights movement, but apparently we still have another fight for equality in this country.
"How do you know so much about everything?'" was asked of a very wise and intelligent man; and the answer was "By never being afraid or ashamed to ask questions as to anything of which I was ignorant." - John Abbott (1821-1893)
What I read there was "I got
What I read there was "I got my equal rights, for me and mine. I did NOT march for anyone else, and I am a hypocrite." And guess, what Rev Owens, know who else was a hypocrite? I'll give you a hint, his name starts with Jud and ends with as. what an idiot. But I guess when you are an adult with an imaginary friend, that tells you that what some people do in the privacy of their own home is "naughty", we can't expect much better than beating their chests and screaming. We really need to reign in these religious morons in our country, and grow up as a people. It is time to abandon imaginary friends and face reality.

The good ol' "I want equal
The good ol' "I want equal rights (for me, but not other people)" Does he not see the hypocrisy in his statements.
