Fox News host Bill O’Reilly told his audience tonight that Christianity is not a religion, but a philosophy that even Muslims follow. Thus, a Christmas tree should not be seen as an endorsement of the Christian religion, which is actually a philosophy.
Then O'Reilly confronted Rhode Island Governor Lincoln Chafee over his decision to rename the Rhode Island Christmas tree the “holiday tree” (video below).
Gov. Chafee explained he was doing what the previous governors have done, by not promoting one particular religion over another, reports Mediaite.com.
Popular VideoPeople were so furious about this Pepsi ad that Pepsi pulled it after just one day. Watch it here and decide if it's offensive:
O’Reilly tried to explain to Gov. Chafee the origin and traditions of the tree, to which Chafee told O’Reilly he didn’t need a “lecture.”
Gov. Chafee said that O’Reilly and Fox News “are too angry” about Christmas controversies every year.
