Dr. James Dobson said on his "Family Talk" radio broadcast today that last week’s U.S. Supreme Court ruling in favor of gay marriage threatens the “entire superstructure” of society, which could “come down.”

“That’s the foundation of the relationship, a man and a woman. And if you undermine it, if you do anything to cause it to crack like has occurred now with the rulings last week, you necessarily threaten the entire superstructure. I believe it can come down," said Dr. Dobson, noted (audio below).

However, Dr. Dobson failed to mention that the U.S. Supreme Court has not changed heterosexual marriage in its rulings. People are still free to engage in heterosexual marriage as they have always been.

Dr. Dobson then added: “Because you can’t have stability without a functioning a marital relationship that leads to strong children who know who they are as a boy or a girl or a man or a woman. This has been devastating. Even if eventually legally we somehow walk it back a bit, I don’t see our ever completely recovering from what has happened here.”

Dr. Dobson did not present any proof that families without a man and woman cannot have "stability."
