Rev. Franklin Graham Upset That X-Men's Iceman Is Gay, Urges Repentance

| by Michael Allen

Iceman is one of the original X-Men created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby at Marvel Comics in 1963.

While Iceman has had romantic interests in women (Lorna Dane, Opal Tanaka, Nurse Annie) over the years, he will come out as gay in All-New X-Men #40 this week.

According to The Verge, Iceman is outed by fellow X-Men Jean Grey. In 2012, Northstar, another Marvel character (X-Men and Alpha Flight), came out as gay and married his boyfriend.

One person who is not happy about Iceman's new LGBT status is Rev. Franklin Graham, who slammed the change on Facebook, claimed it was an effort to indoctrinate children and called for repentance:

Today the Marvel comic character Ice Man, from the “X-Men” series, is coming out as gay. This is another attempt to indoctrinate our young people to accept this destructive lifestyle. God’s Word says homosexuality is a sin, and we are to be on guard against all sin. God calls us to repent, turn from our sins, and put our trust in His Son Jesus Christ who died and rose again to pay the penalty for sin.
