Refuse Mail That Uses Harvey Milk Stamp, Says Pro-Christian Group
The anti-gay, pro-Christian American Family Association (AFA) is calling on its followers not to use the new Harvey Milk stamp that was recently issued by the United States Postal Service (USPS).
The AFA says on its website that Milk used "his charm and power to prey on young boys with emotional problems and drug addiction" and is the "last person we should be featuring on a stamp... This is not diversity; this is perversity."
The AFA then recommends that people refuse the Harvey Milk stamp if a postal employee tries to sell it to them and refuse any mail delivered to their home if it includes the stamp.
Milk was one of the first openly gay elected officials in the United States when he won a seat on the San Francisco Board of Supervisors, but was assassinated by fellow Supervisor Dan White on Nov. 27, 1978.
“The dreams uncle Harvey shared with me, for a world based not simply on tolerance, but on inclusion, not simply on an allowance for differences, but on the celebration of humanity’s diversity, are dreams for which he made the ultimate sacrifice,” Harvey Milk Foundation Founder/President and Milk’s nephew, Stuart Milk, said at a White House dedication ceremony on May 22, noted a USPS press release.
“These dreams have a wonderful new emblem with the U.S. Postal Service’s issuance of the Harvey Milk Forever Stamp. The stamp represents a remembrance of the price paid by those that have gone before us in the struggle for equality and is also a graceful reminder that we each have a role to play in nourishing hope for those still struggling for acceptance, and that equality requires our vigilance, not only here, but across this globe that we all share.”
Today, the AFA posted an article entitled, "Gay agenda creeping into all curriculum" on its OneNewsNow.com website along with a poll asking readers, "What is the primary objective of homosexual activists who target youths?"
The choices include:
To brainwash them that the lifestyle is 'normal'
To make their parents appear to be 'intolerant' and 'hateful'
To question God's truth about morality and sin
To recruit children into the lifestyle
