President Obama 'Hails' From Kenya, Claims American Family Association (Audio)

| by Michael Allen

American Family Association radio host Sandy Rios used her program yesterday to push the often-debunked right wing claim that President Obama was born in Kenya.

The Christian host used the recent mass killing at a mall in Nairobi, Kenya, to say that President Obama “hails” from Kenya, noted RightWingWatch.org (audio below).

Rios further mangled her facts when she claimed Obama is a cousin to Raila Odinga, whom she called “the Prime Minister right now.”

In reality, Odinga is the former Prime Minister of Kenya and has claimed to be Obama’s cousin, which was denied by Obama’s uncle, noted Reuters.

The “birther” claim that Obama was born in Kenya has been disproven multiple times by the president himself, report Snopes.com and PolitiFact.com (which also denied Obama and Odinga are cousins).

“The implications of this are pretty frightening, and of course it’s interesting that this is the country from which our president hails,” claimed Rios. “This is his lineage. We know his cousin Raila Odinga is a Muslim communist. It’s just amazing. I think he’s the Prime Minister right now.”
