Poll: 57 Percent of Republicans Don't Like Muslims

A new poll, conducted by the Arab American Institute, asked Americans for their views on various religious groups, reports Salon.com.

The results showed that 57 percent of Republicans view Muslims unfavorably, while 26 percent view them favorably.

When it comes to Arabs, in general, 53 percent of Republicans view them negatively.

49 percent of Democrats view Muslims favorably, while 29 percent viewed them unfavorably. Democrats did not give any religious group a majority negative rating, while Republicans gave negative ratings to Muslims, Arabs, Muslim-Americans and Arab-Americans.

The group most favored by Republicans were Presbyterians who got an 83 percent favorable rating, while Democrats favored Baptists the most with a 73 favorable rating.
