A "700 Club" viewer asked televangelist Pat Robertson on Feb. 16 if there was any "spiritual" harm being caused by her adult daughter posting pictures of her ultrasound on Facebook.
According to RightWingWatch.org, Robertson claimed a cultist or a coven could use the pictures to place curses on the fetus (video below).
"I don't think there is any harm in it,” stated Robertson. “But I tell you, there are demons and there are evil people in the world, and you post a picture like that and some cultist gets hold of it, or a coven, and they begin this muttering curses against an unborn child. I just don't think that, this business of, I mean posting the most intimate parts of your body on Facebook, I just can't see it. To me it's abhorrent, but it isn't necessarily unbiblical, it's just abhorrent."
In more religious news, Mississippi legislators are working to pass a bill that might create a real danger.
The Mississippi state House recently passed a bill that would allow people to drive buses without having a commercial driver's license if the bus is owned by a church.
HB 132 would waive the current state requirement to have a CDL-certified driver transport up to 30 passengers in a church-owned vehicle, noted The Clarion Ledger.
